CURB REPORTER -Continued from Page One_ Saltz, 65, of Hendersonville, will be held Saturday at 11 a. m. in Thomas Shepherd Memorial Chap el. He was a retired farmer. He .was a brother of A. C. Saltz of Saluda, former chief of police in Tryon. Federation Stockholders’ Meeting Set For Monday The annual Farmers Federation Stockholders’ meeting for Polk County will be held in the Tryon wai’ehouse at 8 n. m., on Monday, March 9, it was announced today by James G. K. McClure, president. County Agent Paul E. Culberson will report on agricultural prog ress in the county and discuss 4-H achievements. Stockholders of the Federation in this county will attend the an nual meeting for the election of committeemen and the nomination of one director it was announced. The director nominated at this meeting will be voted upon at the annual meeting of all stockholders of the organization in Buncombe County court house on March 28. Each director is elected for two years in such a manner that one director comes up for election each year. Music will be furnished Mon day by the Federation string band, and baby chicks will be awarded as prizes. Refreshments will be served. The present directors for the Tryon warehouse are Gaden Cor pening and Earl Swain. Commit teemen for Polk County are: Frank Jackson, J. H. Gibbs, Walter Hill, John L. Edwards, Guy Davenport, Virgil Henson, Gaden C. Corpen ing, Fred’ Arledge, Earl Swain, Hinton Thompson, James Lank ford, Ralph Lawrence, Troy Staton, Mrs. Arnold Williams and Roy Walker.
